Pearl D. Wardlow

Pearl holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Dance with a Teaching of Dance Emphasis from
the University of California at Irvine. In 1989, Pearl was selected to attend the California
State Summer School for the Arts at Cal Arts in Valencia, CA and was honored by
Governor George Dukmejian as a California Arts Scholar. Pearl's training began with Ann
Hall and later Melinda Shaner in the Yucaipa area. She has studied with Paul Maure,
Donald McKayle, Bernard Johnson, Buddy Schwimmer,Christine Baltes, Evie Newman, and
Brian Vernon.
Pearl's performance credits include Disneyland Parades and Shows as well as special
events for KLOS radio station and the Harris' Corporation.  She has danced the roles of
Lilac Fairy
Sleeping Beauty, Sugar Plum Fairy The Nutcracker and Odette Swan Lake
under the direction of Melinda Shaner and with staging by Paul Maure. In high school and
community theater, Pearl has acted in roles such as M'Lynn
Steel Magnolias and Andy
Steppin' Out (Redlands Footlighters), Maggie Brigadoon, Ensemble & Congress of
Beauties
Show Boat (Redlands Bowl), Ensemble & Virtue Anything Goes!, & Ensemble
The Wizard of Oz. She also holds a Certificate in Television Production from San
Bernardino Valley College.  Her love of children,dance, and teaching inspired her to open
Dance Spectrum in  October 1999.
In 2007, Pearl was recognized by Assemblyman Paul Cook & the California Legislature for
Excellence in Choreography for Yucaipa High School's production of West Side Story.  
Pearl's students have been accepted into some of the nation's most prestigious summer
dance programs including American Ballet Theater, The Alvin Ailey American Dance
Theater, The Joffrey Ballet, State Street Ballet of Santa Barbara, Inland Pacific Ballet,
Tap Kids, & the California State Summer School for the Arts.  Former students have
worked professionally in the entertainment industry and continue their dance and arts
training in college and university level.  More importantly Dance Spectrum students carry
away a lifelong love and appreciation and understanding of dance, music, and the arts.
Kelly Ivy
Ballet, Tap, & Jazz Teacher & SDE Choreographer

Kelly trained at Dance Spectrum for seven years and has been on the
teaching staff since 2007.   She successfully completed the Dance
Spectrum Teacher Apprenticeship Program in 2007.   As a member of
Spectrum Dance Ensemble for 2 years,  Kelly competed at various
dance adjudications and performed throughout Southern California.  
Kelly is graduate of Cal State San Bernardino and holds a Bachelor of
Arts Degree in Mass Communications.

Julia Diaz
Acro/Tumbling, Jazz, Tap, & Hip-Hop Teacher and SDE Choreographer

Julia trained at Dance Spectrum for over 12 years.  She has
performed and competed as a member of Spectrum Dance Ensemble
and was a member of the Beaumont High School Cheer Squad. Her
fun & creative choreography has won top awards at multiple dance
competitions.


                   
Rhonda Gerwin-Vaughan
Hawaiian/Polynesian & Adult Jazz/Tap Teacher (not pictured)

Rhonda Gerwin-Vaughan has been a dance professional for over 30 years.  She was one of the
youngest, at the time, to receive her dance instructor's accredidation from the Dance Masters
Association, which was well known for turning out remarkable dance teachers, choreographers, and
professional dancers throughout the U.S.A.  She has taught and performed professionally in Hawaiian,
Polynesian, Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Stage and has formed her own dance performing troupes.  She has
directed and choreographed many stage shows through the years.  Rhonda owned her own studio in
Beaumont (Rhonda and Co.) and she is thrilled to return to a studio setting in which she can share her
love of dance with others.
Sarah Culotta
Ballet, Tap, Jazz, & Lyrical Teacher

Sarah has trained at Dance Spectrum for seven years and has
performed and competed with
Spectrum Dance Ensemble. Sarah successfully completed the Teacher Apprenticeship Program
at Dance Spectrum in June of 2012 and attended Inland Pacific Ballet's Summer Program in the
Summer of 2013 where she performed in
Raymonda choreographed by George Balanchine.  In
Dance Spectrum's Ballet productions, Sarah has danced the roles of Alice
Alice in Wonderland
2012, Snow Queen Nutcracker 2012. Fairy of the Golden Vine and the White Cat The Sleeping  
Beauty 2014, as well as
Sugar Plum Fairy Nutcracker 2014.  Sarah is continuing her  dance
education
and minoring in business at Riverside Community College with the goal of transferring
to U.C.Irvine to pursue a Bachelor's Degree
in Dance.  She recently performed in her first
professional musical theater production of Disney's "Beauty and the Beast" with Performance
Riverside.  We look forward to the many exciting opportunities on the horizon for Sarah.    
Morgan Belknap
Ballet, Tap, & Lyrical Teacher

Morgan has performed in many Dance Spectrum ballet productions performing as
Alice
Alice in Wonderland   2012, Sugar Plum Fairy The Nutcracker 2012,  &  
Aurora The Sleeping  Beauty 2014. She successfully completed the Dance   
Spectrum Teacher Apprenticeship Program at Dance Spectrum in June of 2012.  
In the summer of  2013, Morgan served the Lord on a Mission Trip to Canada.  
Morgan
is married and is now the proud mother of a healthy baby boy named
Malachi.  
Joshua Curtis
Hip-Hop Teacher

Josh Curtis is a talented choreographer and teacher.  By the age of 16, he knew
that teaching and mastering the art of choreography was going to be his life. He
recently  appeared as a featured dancer on the T.V. show, Steady Mobbin' which
airs on the Dance Network Channel. For13 years now, Josh has set award
winning dance pieces and taught classes of all ages and all levels in Southern
California. His choreography is sought after by up and coming Hip-Hop music
artisits and is receiving exposure on internet music videos.

Having been trained in a dance studio, Josh has grown to become very
passionate about his art. From picking the right song...all the way to cleaning the
last 8-count of a dance, he loves it all.  It is really important to him that everyone
has some kind of positive influence in their lives...Joshua hopes to be that
influence.
Jackie Buckman
Ballet Teacher

Having trained in ballet in St. Louis Missouri, Columbia Missouri, & Los Angeles,
Jackie is excited to share her well varied teaching style with our Ballet IB and
Adult students. She has performed with the Minnesota Ballet and in Musical
theater productions.  Jackie holds 3 degrees: B.S. in Environmental Sciences
(Art & Interior Design Specialty), M.S. in Psychiatric Nursing, and a B.S. in
General Nursing.  She enjoys her position as a Substitute teacher in the
Beaumont Unified School District and is looking forward to sharing her passion
for dance with her students at Dance Spectrum.   
                                                                                                                                     
Gail Adkinson-De Zon
                                                                                                                 Ballet Teacher &
Choreographer

Gail , at a very young age, was fortunate enough to receive training from some
of the world’s most renowned teachers including Vitale Fokine and Matt
Mattox, the “Father of American Jazz Dance”.  Gail attended the Boston
Conservatory of Music where she began student teaching.  She then moved to
New York City where she broadened her dance education.  In 1975, she and a
partner opened a dance studio in Brooklyn, New York which is still in existence
today.  Gail choreographed for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parades and Macy’s
special tap events for the Guinness Book of World Records.  She has taught at
the prestigious New Jersey School of Ballet as well as at numerous studios in New
Jersey, Ohio, and California.  Gail was recognized by the National Foundation for
the Advancement of the Arts for her teaching and
was presented with a certificate of commendation.  
Brett Ordaz
Tap Teacher
Brett studied tap, jazz, and more at Dance Spectrum and has gone on to train
with and perform with Sarah Reich's now defunct Tap Dance Company "Tap
Con Sabor".  She regularly attends major Tap Festivals including the
Washington D.C. Tap Fest and L.A. Tap Fest where she works as an intern for
Chloe Arnold.  Having studied at tap intensives such as Tap Kids in N.Y.C, Slide,
and Tap Sounds Underground, Brett's rhythms and choreography are
beloved by her students and we are so pleased to have her back teaching
with us again.
