Tax Advisor, International Area Desk (Asia Pacific Business Group) (Senior Manager) (Multiple Positions)(Multiple Positions), Ernst & Young U.S. LLP, New York, NY.

Provide Operating Model Effectiveness (OME) tax and business integration advice and support to US clients with existing or planned Asia-Pacific business operations. Assist multinational clients and internal colleagues understand unique regional business and tax issues including how the tax laws of countries in Asia-Pacific apply and should be considered in connection with significant business transformation projects. Serve as OME integrator on projects including M&A transactions, new business strategy and operating model design initiatives, digital transformation, operating model governance and management of distressed businesses. Apply an understanding of international tax concepts including Permanent Establishment, Controlled Foreign Company (CFC) rules, Transfer Pricing, Intangible Property (IP) Planning, Tax Treaties and identify common and contrasting concepts between US tax law and those in Asia-Pacific countries. Build on technical competence by keeping up to date on trends, developments and tax law changes in the US and Asia-Pacific and apply them to complex situations. Lead and direct teams of professionals with diverse skills and backgrounds by providing constructive on-the-job feedback/coaching to team members. Develop and maintain long-term client relationships and networks. Manage risk in the delivery of quality client services. Generate and manage new business opportunities.

Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm.

Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Economics, Tax, Law, or a related field, and 8 years of related work experience; OR a Master’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Economics, Tax, Law, or a related field, and 7 years of related work experience.

Must have 7 years of experience in local country and international tax or equivalent experience in business or industry.

Must have 4 years of experience in Asia Pacific regional taxation and Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS) issues.

Must have 4 years of experience in working with complex Asia Pacific tax and legal concepts and applying them to client situations.

Must have 4 years of experience in advising companies regarding tax implications of investments or operations in the Asia Pacific region.

Must have 2 years of experience working in the Asia Pacific region, or with teams based in the Asia Pacific region, in a tax and/or legal role.

Requires travel up to 25%, including international travel, to serve client needs.
